I have been inspired to try my hand at this beautiful art form. I’ve always been interested in calligraphy and I’ve always loved pens, markers, crayons, paper – pretty much anything to do with writing/coloring. I bought a few books over the past year, but none of them really took me where I needed to go. Since then, I have discovered Kelly Creates (www.kellycreates.ca). Her way of presenting and teaching has me hooked. I convinced my dear hubby to go ahead and purchase and, more importantly, give me the supplies for my birthday (which isn’t until February). I got a great deal at my local JoAnn store on the items pictured and I started right away. I’ll also post a picture of my first daily challenge. I have a long way to go, but I’m excited about this new hobby.
I started this blanket for myself last fall. I worked on a baby blanket for a while and now I’m back to working on this. I love the colors in this yarn – it’s Cherry Compote in the Caron Big Cakes yarn. Looks and feels great!
Finished up this lovely blanket this weekend. I started it with the intention of making it as a baby blanket for a friends newborn. It turned out to be a lap blanket that will work for an adult. Sure hope she gets a lot of use out of it.
I caught a glimpse of this pretty little day lily headed in to our condo last week. This one little bloom was the only one in that section of the flower bed and it looked so happy, it made me happy. It truly is the little things that make life grand.
My mother wrote this beautiful poem and I always like to share it on Memorial Day. My mom was one of my greatest inspirations. I miss her every single day.
Today’s project is a baby blanket inspired by the birth of my friends’ new daughter. I used a photo from some of their nursery decor to choose the colors. I’ve been working on this since February and really need to get it finished while she’s still a baby!
